A personal witness to the miraculous.
In 1991 as we came out of denominational Christianity, the Lord began to work healings through us unto others for which we give the praise and glory.
We have not had medical insurance for many years, rather, we have learned to really trust God for our healing, according to His promises in scripture.
Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
After seeing the Lord do many, many healing miracles in others, the time came when we experienced our own injury or afflictions. The following are personal miracles of healing experienced by me.
In June of 2006 I was working on a property renovation. During the tear out, I went to dispose of the old toilet that had been a fixture in that property. Bare handed, I carried the toilet outside to the dumpster and went to lift it up to about five feet high to toss it in. At the moment I pushed it over the top edge of the dumpster the porcelain tank shattered and my left wrist went into the glass-sharp edges of the broken tank.
The cut was deep and very bad, about 2.5" long, and dark blood pulsed out, indicating the vein was cut.
I was almost sickened by the sight of it and knew it was very bad. I went back to the job site and washed it out with running water but felt myself going into shock so I called my wife Linda saying I was hurt and to bring the First Aid kit right over. We live about a 7 minute drive from the job site. Lying down on the driveway, I sensed the Lord directing me to hold the wound closed with the thumb of my right hand.
When Linda arrived, I was in shock, lying there on the cement driveway, with face as white as a sheet. She again washed the blood off my arm and wrist, we prayed and anointed the area with oil, she wrapped the wound with bandages, and took me home.
Before we left, a worker who had once been an ambulance driver showed up, and urged me to go to the Emergency Care at the hospital, citing various medical terms such as "staph", tetnaus", and "infection". Of course our faith was tried then and there, and we were tempted to lean on the arm of the flesh by going to seek professional medical care.
Over a year later, there has been no infection or complication. God healed the wound completely and I have testified to many people of God's healing promises from scripture, and for the miracle of my healing. The 2" scar remains as a witness.
On another occasion, back in the mid-nineties, while working, I scratched my finger on a "dirty" nail that was rusty and contaminated by animal waste. As it was a surface scratch, I thought nothing of it and ignored the fact that for the next 2-3 weeks it was not healing.
Finally, someone visiting our home noticed it and said "Hey! -that's infected! You better go to the doctor!"
"WOW, it is?" I responded. I had never had an infection before so it did not occur to me there was a problem. But when the friend from our church pointed it out, immediately I panicked and jumped in the car headed toward the office of a doctor.
Then it happened.
While driving down 4th St., the Lord clearly spoke to me saying "You pray for others and I heal them. Now you need healing and you are running to the doctor?"
With tears in my eyes, I turned the car around and went home. It was a Friday afternon. Sunday there were several who prayed the prayer of agreement:
Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. :20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
The infection left, I still have the small scar on my right hand ring finger. The remarkable thing was a few weeks later, I met a man who was on disibility for almost the exact same injury to a finger on his right hand. Although he had been treated by the doctor, his infection had spread, going into his wrist, and he had been away from his job for over a month because of it. I was able to testify to him of the healing the Lord had given me. THere remains a little scar on my finger:
July-Aug. 2007
The next testimony is regarding an injury to my shin. It must have happened while working in the yard but whatever cut me caused the wound to become infected.
Once again, I have kept "holding fast the confession of our faith that it waver not", "By His stripes we WERE healed" from 1Peter 2:24, and went about my daily routine without giving thought to worry or anxiety about the infection. Days passed and there was no outward improvement; the swelling, and dark and reddened area seeming to linger.
As I had been healed other times, I continued to "stand fast" in faith, and boldly confessed to others God had healed me, even though the visible wound still showed itself. Today, approximately 2 months later, healing is complete.
Third testimony
In 2006, the day after a mountain hike, somehow I must have injured my left hip, inside the hip socket. Within 24 hours I was in excruciating pain, in that the slightest movement of my leg would trigger intense pain. Sleep was difficult because of the pain and in the morning it would take me 5 minutes to pull on my pants. The pain was so strong, getting dressed was agony and sweat poured off my face.
This went on for three days, but I had purposed to trust God for healing for whatever had happened to me.
On the third day, my wife and I prayed again, a prayer of agreement, and she said she "knew God was healing me". That night, as I slowly climbed our stairs to go to bed, I sensed the Lord moving on my body. Laying in bed, the power of God began to manifest stronger and stronger, and in a few moments I KNEW I WAS HEALED! Getting up from the bed, I yelled to my wife downstairs "I AM BEING HEALED RIGHT NOW!!!"
And so it was.
A few days later I asked the Lord why I had to suffer. "Was it because I had sinned?". He answered me "No, it was because I wanted you to learn faith". 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Hebrews 5:8, Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.
I will try to keep it simple. The answer is most people that do not receive the promise do not have complete faith, and unbelief causes their faith to waver. There are precious few role models around the church world who actually do what the disciple of Christ did. Our faith has suffered from the lack of witness to God's power by those that name themselves Christian.
The scripture says that unbelief is what causes God's people to not inherit the promised land, -the conquering of the flesh. It is unbelief born out of fear and doubt that causes us to depart from God in the trial of any need we have.
Our prayer is these testimonies edify you.
